Sims Suspended Two Games, Mitchell Fined $5,000

The WNBA has announced disciplinary actions against Dallas Wings center Teaira McCowan and Indiana Fever guard Victoria Vivians following a flagrant foul committed by McCowan in the Wings' 92-84 victory over the Fever on Sunday, July 24.

McCowan was ejected from the game after being assessed a Flagrant Foul 2 for an elbow to the head of Vivians. The league reviewed the incident and determined that McCowan's actions warranted a two-game suspension.

Vivians was also assessed a technical foul for her role in the altercation. The league reviewed the incident and determined that Vivians' actions did not warrant a suspension, but she was fined $5,000.

McCowan will serve her suspension during the Wings' upcoming games against the Connecticut Sun on Tuesday, July 26, and the New York Liberty on Thursday, July 28.

The Wings are currently 9-9 on the season and are tied for sixth place in the WNBA standings. The Fever are 5-11 and are in 11th place.
